Okay, now I'm gettin' pissed off! I'm about sick and tide (like the detergent) of folks (the media) trying their damnest to discredit Michael Jackson! WE don't care about all the old and decrepit stuff that Michael may or may not have done or said. Who cares now, especially in the scheme of thangs? Our beloved Michael is gone forever and we are a world of mourning right now.
And with all these dayum "instant" Michael Jackson books coming out by the end of July, with all these fareakin' opportunists, just makes me wanna scream! (no pun intended) At first, I was fascinated about hearing about the 24-hour non-stop news coverage, but now I'm fixen to boycott this carap! I spent this past weekend watching the news coverage, all his videos on 5 diff. channels, while crying and taking my braids down.
Now, I will treasure Michael Jackson's memory, thank GOD that we had an opportunity to share in the real-time space with this brilliant genius during our lifetime, but now it's time to keep it movin'! Because if you ain't careful, you will become addicted to the ever-evolving coverage and won't be able to take care of your own bitness, thus will continue to be in a state of mourning! So, let's keep it movin', folks!
And another thang--I sure wish that the family will shut Joe Jackson up for a minute! He doesn't do anybody any good with all of his stuff--classless boasting, promoting other folks, etc. Now, stuff like this is the reason why folks have "family spokespersons." Geesh...I sure wish that they will permanently designate someone else, and quick, too. I'll even take Tito, at this point.
Though my son and I watched the BET Awards last night, which honored MJ, I have a few critiques which I will highlight later, but the main disappointment to me was Jamie Foxx as the host. His sexual stuff was in poor taste, inappropriate, especially when it was honoring MJ. In addition, with those tight-azz and constant Michael Jackson change of outfits, seemed more like a mockery than a tribute. In addition, many of the performing acts, I simply did not get, i.e., that Keri chick, and Beyonce. WTF? However, Ne-yo's rendition of MJ's "Human Nature" was the best!
Okay, well, I'll just give one more "observation." WTH was New Edition doing up there? I didn't even recognize those folks until they showed Bobby Brown's mug shot. Then that Rickey Bell dude? Wow! it was obvious that he had not performed since the mid 90s'. Geesh...he scared me. And I just gotta say, Don Cornelius need to go back into obscurity, we're cool without 'em.
Y'all know that if he were not the legendary "Don Cornelius," his azz would've been cut off, with music playin' and all, after the first 15 minutes of his rant. Get real now. Lol. The Ojays were cool, but performed too many songs, especially since our nerves were already shot from Don, then their follow up acceptance speech of which Eddie Levert dropped the "s bomb," which was not bleeped out, or rather delayed by the telecast. I guess they were just not prepared for that one, too slow on the "bleep button," huh? It was quite a shock, I must say; however. Of course, I cried when Janet unexpectedly showed up and spoke.
I'm still mortified! I cannot believe that Michael is actually gone. It seems as if I will wake up from this Twilight Zone next week and hear Michael with his beautiful and contagious smile say, "Just jokin'! I just wanted to see if I still had it and that my fans still loved me, because y'all ain't been actin' like it and stuff lately. Shoot!"
RIP Michael Jackson
