- The "Ava's Diary" trilogy book series tells of a coming-of-age journey of our heroine, Miss Ava Lareaux, a young and precocious black girl, and her determination to escape from her environment to become "somebody." In Series 1, Ava takes tells of her life as well as those of her parents, grandparents, and what she remembers about her great-grandparents. Series 2 picks up where Series 1 leaves off--Ava's on her way to a prestigious college out-of-state where she experiences a sub-culture far beyond her most lurid imagination. And in Series 3, while studying abroad in Europe, Ava meets and falls in love with a handsome stranger in London, England.

- I just felt compelled to share my story, in hopes of healing myself and others.

- Because it is an excellent read. The story holds you there, while taking you on an adventure like non other. The book series are fun, educational, and enlightening. You will laugh, and you will cry. A great read.

Okay, now I'm gettin' pissed off! I'm about sick and tide (like the detergent) of folks (the media) trying their damnest to discredit Michael Jackson!
