"Be A Father To Your Child" (Soft Skull Press 2008) is an anthology on black fatherhood from men who grew up during the Golden Era of Hip Hop (the 80's). BAF includes essays, short stories, interviews, and poetry on positive, and challenging, accounts of black fathers and sons.. All proceeds from sales of BAF are donated to the Black Men and Boys initiative of the 21st Century Foundation.

"No Good Nigga Bluez" is a collection of short stories, poems, and essays against black self-hatred and the challenges of black men in a post civil rights America. Co-Authored by Mo Beasley and Jerome Jones. (Scripted Linguistics Publishing, 2003)

What inspired you to write your book? if applicable

Becoming a Grandfather at the age of 36 inspired me to write the "G-Daddy..." essay for BAF.

My mother's mantra from my childhood, "I ain't gonna let you be a no good nigga!", is what inspired my first book, "No Good Nigga Bluez". It is my exorcism of an ugly word, and ways, called "Nigga."

Why should readers read your book? If applicable

There is little no other publications that specifically chronicle the first had accounts and insights of men, and fathers, in a Post Civil Rights/Hip Hop America. "BAF" and "NGNB" is for us and by us, black men of America from various backgrounds and class groups.
